Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, one of Dubrovnik's largest luxury resorts, competes in a demanding global tourism market where profitability relies on securing direct customer relationships and maximizing control over the guest experience. Dependence on third-party booking platforms restricts margins and limits this control, making direct bookings vital for sustainable success.
The strategic goal was to increase direct bookings by boosting digital visibility in key international markets and targeting high-value travelers with strong purchase intent. This required expanding reach and building an acquisition system that guides users efficiently through the booking funnel.
To achieve this, an integrated performance marketing strategy was used across six markets: the United States, Ireland, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Channels were aligned with stages of the decision-making process. Google Display Network generated initial demand, Performance Max scaled reach and optimized performance across channels, while Search campaigns captured high-intent users ready to book.
As a result, the campaigns delivered strong performance across key metrics, including increased qualified traffic from target markets and a 31% inquiry-to-booking conversion rate, effectively translating demand into revenue through a highly optimized booking funnel.
